Support Worker

As a Support Worker at Shalom, you will provide person-centred care and support to adults with learning disabilities, dementia, and elderly individuals in their own homes and in the community. You will assist with personal care, meal preparation, medication prompting, and community access, working collaboratively with social workers, GPs, and other professionals.

Requirements

  • SVQ Level 2 in Social Services & Healthcare (or willingness to work towards)

Senior Support Worker

🕐 Full-time 📍 Edinburgh, Scotland
£14.00 – £15.00 per hour

The Senior Support Worker will lead a small team of support workers, providing guidance, mentoring, and on-the-ground supervision. You will also carry a personal caseload, ensuring high-quality, person-centred support is delivered consistently. You will liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and the local authority on behalf of the individuals we support.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a care or support setting
  • SVQ Level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare (or equivalent)
  • Experience supervising or mentoring staff
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • PVG Scheme membership
  • Full UK driving licence

Care Manager

£34,000 – £42,000 per annum

The Care Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of Shalom's care services, ensuring compliance with Care Inspectorate standards and Scottish Government regulations. You will manage a team of support workers, lead on care planning and reviews, and build strong relationships with commissioners, local authorities, and health professionals.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a management role within social care
  • SVQ Level 4 in Social Services & Healthcare or equivalent management qualification
  • Thorough knowledge of Scottish care regulations and Care Inspectorate requirements
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • PVG Scheme membership
  • Full UK driving licence

Admin / Office Worker

🕐 Part-time 📍 Edinburgh, Scotland
£14.00 – £15.00 per hour

The Admin Worker will provide essential administrative support to the Shalom team, including managing correspondence, maintaining records, scheduling appointments, processing referrals, and supporting the management team with day-to-day office tasks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in an administrative or office support role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
  • PVG Scheme membership (or willingness to apply)
